Glen Acres Elementary School

Our students have been working hard on their learning goals.

We will have a special day this Friday. It is a day when writers from the area visit Glen Acres to share their expertise with students. Writers come from 9:00-12:00 and give one hour presentations to students in grades K-5. Students in grades K-2 have one writer presentation and students in grades 3-5 have two different writer presentations . A variety of writers come, including the following: playwright, composer, producer of sports writing, freelance writer and chief copy editor, theater and literature critic, poet, storyteller and origami artist, children’s author, producer and performer of music. Students leave the day motivated and full of excitement for writing!

Report cards will be available to view online on 12/14. Information about our reporting system was attached in my November emails.

Thursday, December 13: Day 2 Specials, Reading Olympics @8AM, GA Band and Orchestra Performers at GAE for practice @ 7:30 AM, 9:30 AM GA and Exton Band and Orchestra Concert for Students, First Grade Field Trip to WCU to see the Nutcracker( Bring Bagged Lunches), GA and Exton BAND AND ORCHESTRA CONCERT FOR FAMILIES in the FUGETT Auditorium@ 7PM ( student performers arrive @6:30)

Donation toward gift cards: Our caseworker, Ms. Young, has identified families within our community that could use a little extra help this holiday season. If you would like to participate, there is a tree at school with tags to purchase gift cards. If you cannot make it into school, you can make a donation via PTO MSA (any amount), and all money collected will be used for the purchase of gift cards for the families at Glen Acres.

I need your help please. When picking up your child at the end of the day, please do not park on the lawns of the Penn Lane homeowners. Unfortunately, parking on their lawns can cause their lawns to get ripped up resulting in them having to make repairs. Please pull into the parent circle to get your children. We do our best to get through the line quickly. In addition, please do not park on their lawns for school events. Families who live there and who have problems with people parking there are within their rights to call law enforcement.
