From the Principal...
MacArthur Families,
This month we are talking about Responsibility. One way to define Responsibility is “taking action and understanding the impact of our choices.” Taking action can mean doing the right thing or completing the tasks you have been assigned. Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Positive and responsible actions can help people and irresponsible actions can hurt others. Responsibility is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Strong. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like focusing, organizing, and goal-setting.
As we know we are a village and we want to make sure we are providing home and school connections. Have some fun connecting as a family this month while practicing Responsibility.
Here are 3 “Purposeful Pursuits” for you to complete together.
Pursuit 1:
As a family, think of ways in which you might make someone’s life a little easier by
helping a neighbor or family friend with 1 of their Responsibilities. Could you bring the
garbage to the chute or out to the curb? Could you carry things in from the grocery store? Could you invite someone over for a meal or a show?
Pursuit 2:
Review Responsibility as a family! Responsibility is taking action and understanding how our choices affect others. Choose 1 household chore (or more!) that requires multiple steps. Then have each member of the family select 1 step to complete to help get the job done! Maybe it is washing the dishes, doing laundry, cleaning the living room, or unloading the groceries - whatever it is, see who can be the quickest or most effective at their task!
Sincerely,
Mr. Gonzalez

Drop off/Pick Up:
Please see the below button "Vehicle Line for Arrival and Dismissal" that was sent out via Skyward for any guardians that are dropping off or picking up scholars at the start or end of our school days.
Bus Alerts
As a reminder, a notification will only be sent out for late buses if a bus departs MacArthur after 4:20PM. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding!
Eagle Notes!
Whenever there is a planned change to your student's day (absences, leaving early, different dismissal plans, arriving late, etc.), please send an Eagle Note to school with your child. Your child's teacher will first see the note, and then the note is sent to the office. This process allows us all to be on the same page to ensure the safety of our students.
- If you have an unplanned absence (you did not know of it until the day-of), please call the office before 8am.
- If you have an unplanned change to dismissal, please notify your student's homeroom teacher directly AND call the office. This is especially important if you are communicating the change during the school day as teachers are often unable to check their email while students are in session.
- If you need to pick up your student early, please try to let us know before noon so teachers are able to get your student organized before they need to leave.
- You can reach us at 262-253-3468.
If you are in need of more Eagle Notes, alert your child's teacher.
Notes from the Library:
We have such a wonderful book selection here in the library for your children! In the beginning of the year, I talk with all my classes regarding book care so our books stay in good condition for all to enjoy. With cooler and rainy days ahead of us, our books may need some special care when returning to the library. Maybe a plastic bag or a Ziploc bag can be used to place the books in so they stay dry from wet clothes and water bottles. I enjoy working with your child during their time here in the library.
Thank you for your help,
Mrs. Dunn
Library Assistant
Picture Retake Day (October 7th)
- Please CLICK HERE (or the button below) for all of the information you will need if your child is getting their picture taken for the first time or getting a retake on October 7th.
- If your student did not have their picture taken at our MacArthur Open House, please be prepared to have them photographed on retake day. Whether you want to order a picture packet or not, every child needs to be photographed for our yearbook.
- If you would like a retake of your student’s original portrait, please return the original package/proof form in its entirety to the photographer. A replacement package will be printed and delivered to the school with your student’s new image.
- Approximately 3 weeks after the retake portrait is taken, your student will bring home a proof form with their own secure web password. Online orders will be mailed directly to your home and will include a shipping charge between $5.50 and $5.80. This password may be used to order photo's anytime for the rest of the school year.

Volunteers are needed for everything from set-up to tear down, running the games to handing out candy. We would ask that you consider donating even an hour of your time to help make this event a success and one that can be enjoyed by all of our MacArthur families. We really need volunteers to help run the games. If you or a family member (especially any of those teenagers hanging around) are available to help out, please use this link to view and sign up for an available spot: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805094AAAA82CA6FF2-2022
Finally, the next PTA Meeting will be Thursday, October 13th. We will be discussing items we would like to fund for the school this year so be sure to attend in person in the library at 7PM or attend online by using this link.
