Akron High School currently has 10 juniors and seniors taking advantage of our work based opportunities where students work for our local businesses. We are very grateful to the 10 businesses providing real world job experiences for our students. We also have 27 students taking advantage of 16 different concurrent enrollment classes. We are fortunate to have post secondary educational institutions, which include Northeastern Junior College, willing to provide college level credit to our high school students. There is no cost to the students taking the college classes and the students in work based learning are recieving a wage from our local businesses. Akron High School will contiunue to expand post secondary opportunites for our students.

This week Mr. Johnson gave the Rams Squad a special thanks for being so amazing! He encouraged them to continue to be awesome Rams.

Sauld Dental will be at the Akron Schools on Oct 24th-26th. If you are interested in a FREE dental screening for your child, please stop by the office to fill out a form.

The Akron Middle School volleyball team started their season against the Haxtun Bulldogs. All teams improved and got some valuable court time.

A Team: won in 3
Gold Team: won in 3
White Team: lost in 2

The Akron Middle School football team won their first game of the season defeating Haxtun on the road 42-20.

The Rams took on the Fleming Wildcats on Tuesday. Although the outcome was not what we wanted, the girls gained some valuable court time.

The Ram golf team has seen a lot of action recently. The boys continue to improve their scores despite battling the wind and heat.

The Akron Rams Football team traveled to Colorado Springs and took on the St. Mary’s Pirates. The Rams got things going early and cruised to a 43-8 victory. In addition to the victory, Rams coaches, players, and fans enjoyed St. Mary’s beautiful stadium and facilities, as well as the amazing scenery and weather.
The Rams football team will be in action again this Saturday, at home against the Fowler Grizzlies. Game starts at 1 o'clock.

Each year elementary students are sent home with a Summer Express workbook to complete over the summer. Students that completed and turned in their workbooks were treated to ice cream sandwiches and extra time outside.
