Volunteer Information
Although we are not allowing in-person volunteers/visitors/mentors on BISD campuses at this time, BISD has updated its Volunteer Application process in preparation for when we can allow visitors into the buildings.
Anyone with interest in volunteering for Boerne ISD should visit www.boerneisd.net/volunteer to complete the application steps to be approved.
We encourage volunteers to complete the process now even though in-person opportunities may be unavailable for a while.

Lunch News
Our BISD school lunch program now has an app! NUTRISLICE is now available for download for all devices. Parents or students can now place their orders ahead of time online. using the app NUTRISLICE.
You are not required to order ahead if your student will be receiving lunch in the cafeteria.
Ordering ahead will simply will make the lunch line move quicker to avoid gathering and comply better with the BISD COVID guidelines. The full menu for each campus and online ordering can be accessed here.
In addition, e-learning students who plan on picking up curbside meals must place an order before midnight the day prior at this link. Please be aware that an order must be placed in order to have their meal prepared and available for them to pick up.
The designated times and location for Curbside pick-up at Herff is in the Downstairs (bus loop) parking lot from 9:30-10 a.m.
If you have any questions about our new food program, please contact Katie Pitchford, Nutrition Coordinator II, at katie.pitchford@boerneisd.net.

Nurse Notes
Here are a few helpful tips from the nurse’s office:
If your child has any of the following symptoms, keep them at home: fever, chills, cough, breathing difficulties, vomiting/diarrhea, muscle or body aches,, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose. Contact your health care provider for guidance. DO NOT send to school!!
A student exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19 will be sent home immediately. We ask that your ill child be picked up within 30 minutes to decrease the chance of infecting others. Please make arrangements with other emergency contacts (family members, friends or neighbors) to pick up your child in case you are not able to within 30 minutes. You will be given instructions for home and return to school from the nurse when you pick up your child.
If you change your phone number or address, please let the office know. That way we can reach you in case of an emergency.
All medications must go through the nurse’s office and come directly from the parent, not from the student. For example: Do not send Tylenol, tums, or any medication with your child. All medications must have a Dr's order and be in their original container and kept in the nurse’s office (even over the counter medications). For further information regarding health or medications you can refer to our Health Services link here: https://www.boerneisd.net/Page/8985
Please keep a change of clothes in your child’s backpack in case of an accident (especially if your child is in Pre-K through 1st Grade). Include: shirt, bottoms, underwear and socks. If your child comes home in clothes that are borrowed from the nurse’s office, please wash them and return them to the nurse.
If you update your child’s immunizations, please give the nurse a copy of the new immunizations.
Now that your child is back in school, please keep your phone close to you, in case the nurse is trying to notify you. If you see this number on your phone: 830.357.4309 - it’s the nurse!
Feel free to call or email me with any questions.
