Session Overview
Executive functions are essential life-long skills that we begin to develop as children through our intrapersonal and interpersonal interactions. Executive functions consist of working memory, planning and prioritization, organization, time management, metacognition, response inhibition, emotional control, sustained attention, task initiation, goal directed persistence, and mental flexibility.
Executive function impairments may express themselves in inattention, incompletion of assignments in a timely manner, difficulty following multi-step directions, inappropriate social behavior(s), anti-social behavior, inability to foresee consequences, recalling information, or getting started on a task.
This session will provide solutions for enhancing executive function skills in students across all age ranges.
