Normally held on September 30th Orange Shirt Day was designed to commemorate the residential school experience, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation. On Thursday, September 23rd, we took a group of 21 runners to Dreamer's Lake to compete in a cross country race. Most students ran a distance of 1.5km, except for our 2 junior high boys who ran 3km! Everyone was able to complete their respective runs in groups that saw around 30 competitors in each category. Adrien Brochu placed 5th with Deklan Weinkauf placing 19th in the grade 5/6 boys while Tenley Starrak and Evelyn Symington came in 16th and 13th in the grade 5/6 girls race. In addition, Paige Sinclair came in 25th in the grade 3/4 girls race. Everyone put in a great effort in their races and I can't wait to see how they do for Terry Fox!

CCS took part in th Terry Fox Run on September 29th, it was a beautiful day to get some laps in for a great cause!!

September marks the beginning of back to band! Please ensure your son/daughter is practicing regularly at home, as this will help our band grow stronger! This could be as little as 10-15 minutes a night, 4-5 days a week. Thank you for being part of our program.
