MST Weekly Update
February 3, 2023
We enter the month of February with a frigid blast of winter. Thankfully it will be gone in about 48 hours.
Today was the third Snow Day of the school year and the last one that is a day off. If we have any additional snow days, they will likely be remote learning days unless there are widespread power/internet outages.
If any student does not have a laptop at home, or internet access, both are available. See the information below for details.
I hope that you all are able to stay warm this weekend!
High School Course Selection
MST students in 9th-11th grade will be selecting their courses for the 2023-24 school year during the week of February 13th-17th. All selections will be done using Aspen. Teachers will be providing recommendations next week (2/6-2/10).
Here is a link to the newly released High School Course Catalog. MST High School courses start on page 96. 9th graders will also be choosing their first CTE program (described on pages 28-37). 10th and 11th graders can select a second CTE if they wish.
A Google Meet will be held on Tuesday February 14th at 10:00 for any parents who have scheduling questions. If needed, an evening session can be added. Here is a link for the Google Meet. meet.google.com/ucb-cwmf-dxe
CTE/MST High School Grade Information Night
The CTE/8th Grade Information night held last evening was a huge success. Thanks to all who attended and to our staff for being there to explain their programs and answer questions. Thanks also to the many student ambassadors who volunteered to assist at this event.
If you have a child in 8th grade who wishes to attend MST High School as a full-time student, please fill out the application below and have your child's middle school counselor sign it. Applications are due by February 17th.
Free Chromebooks Available
The Manchester School District wants to ensure that every student has the technology needed to complete school work at home. Thanks to the federal government's Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF), we were able to purchase Chromebooks to send home with families to keep students connected.
These Chromebooks are different from those used in school – the idea is that these would stay at home with students for use there. Since we understand that families often have multiple students who need computer access, families can request one device for each student.
The devices are available for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Students can keep the devices as long as they are attending school in our district. If you are interested in getting a device for your student, you must contact your student's school and let them know you would like an ECF Chromebook.
Graduation Time Set
MST's graduation for the Class of 2023 will be at 8:00 AM on June 17th at the SNHU arena. Doors will open at 7:40 AM. Tickets will not be required for this event, so there is no limit on the number of guests that you can invite. A recent school district Facebook post said 9:00 for a short while (it was posted as 8:00, but Facebook changed the time for some reason), but it is in fact at 8:00
New Date and Venue for the 2023 Prom
The 2023 MST prom has been rescheduled to Friday May 19th from 6:30 PM-10:00 PM. It will be held at The Farmhouse at Candia Woods golf course. It is a beautiful facility that was recently renovated. More information about ticket sales will be coming later in the spring.
