ALL BULLDOG
October 9-14, 2023 Marysville Jr/Sr High School
Principal's Note
Now that the first quarter has come to a close, I want to say good job! We have an attendance meeting every week and I can tell you that we haven't had as much to talk about this year. Our students have done a good job of getting to school. This focus is a result of not just the students, but also the encouragement provided by our parents/guardians. Is there still work to do? Absolutely! We can do better so let's make that improvement this second quarter. There's plenty to do both academically and activity-wise so let's do our part in being there to get the job done.

Seniors: We are going to push Apply Kansas (our senior information event) to Thursday, October 12. Mrs. Behrens will be providing a ton of information that you don't want to miss. Once again please do not submit applications to colleges/ universities at this time (if you want to be able to do it for free) because I will be talking about a later opportunity. You can hit save on your applications though.
Junior year is the year to be exploring your post-secondary options. Please be going on college visits to the schools that you are interested in. Visits are easy to make if you go to the school website and search for a visit. You will be able to put the info needed such as name, address, program, and they will be able to give you available days. When you are gone from school please let your teachers know and make up missed work. Have your parents/guardian call the school and let them know you will be on a college visit. If you bring something back to the office to show that you went such as a brochure or agenda it will be recorded as an excused absence. You are able to take 2 college visits and have them be excused during your junior year and another 2 during your senior year.
Highland has openings in their CNA and CMA classes. For High school Juniors and Seniors, the class is free of charge. They do need a TB skin test and a COVID record either a letter stating against beliefs or a COVID shot record. We also need the online application done for the fall of 2023. For more information, please contact Mrs. Behrens.

If you missed this performance, then you missed a fun retelling of a family classic. It was cute, funny, and a great job of acting by the entire cast. Congrats to Mrs. Wolfe, the crew, and actors for yet another outstanding performance. Keep up the great work on stage!
