Greetings Weston Elementary Parents/Guardians,


Your student will be bringing home his/her iPad for the first time on Monday, September 10th. We are sending the iPads home to practice for our eLearning Day! We want to check for home internet access and connectivity. Please remember the device care agreement you and your student signed. It might be helpful to review the school expectations as well as your own expectations for your student’s handling of the device.


Please help your student connect their device to your home wifi network if possible. We would like to troubleshoot connectivity issues well in advance of our eLearning Days.


iPads can be connected to your home wifi network by

  1. Tapping the Settings icon -

  2. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.

  3. Tap the name of the secure Wi-Fi network you want to join.

  4. Enter the password for the secure Wi-Fi network, then tap Join. If you can’t tap Join, then the password you’ve entered is incorrect.

  5. After you join the network, you’ll see a blue check mark next to the network and the wifi symbol in the upper-left side of your display.



Your child’s teacher will have an activity they will ask the student to complete. Please send the iPads back with your student the following day.


If you do not have home internet, your student should still be able to access several apps on the iPad that are synced for offline access.


eLearning Days

Please mark these dates on your calendar as our three eLearning Days for 2018-2019:

With the access now being 1-to-1, we will use eLearning days for both alternate learning opportunities, which are scheduled in advance, and for inclement weather make-up days. Scheduled eLearning Days in Greenfield-Central Schools provide a unique opportunity for ALL stakeholders to learn. They provide an


  • Opportunity for students to experience a different type of learning

  • Opportunity for staff to receive professional development teacher training

  • Opportunity for parents to learn about devices used and activities completed at school

  • Opportunity to learn without losing momentum, even during inclement weather
