Third trimester happenings...

Welcome back from Spring Break, Williams community! We appreciate all of the love and support you've given our Wildcats to get them this far. Now, let's prepare them for what's left of the school year!


We will be spotlighting the character trait of fairness in April and citizenship in May. We will focus on how to be fair and just in dealing with everyone AND how to contribute to the well-being of our community.


The Educational Partner Survey (formerly known as the LCAP Survey) is an opportunity for you to help the Hueneme Elementary School District (HESD) by sharing your input with us. Your opinions are important as we plan for the future of our district. This survey is confidential. The information will be used to update and develop the 2022-2023 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Please complete the survey by clicking on the following links:

REMINDER: Our wonderful kitchen team serves breakfast in the cafeteria EVERY DAY from 7:30-7:55 a.m. ONLY students are allowed in the cafeteria during breakfast.

Please remind your student(s) to bring ALL of the following to school EVERY DAY:

COVID Reminders

Students should not come to school if they have any of the COVID related symptoms below:

  • Congestion/Runny nose

  • Cough

  • Sore throat

  • Headache

  • Fatigue/Muscle or body aches

  • Fever above 99.5 degrees

  • Loss of smell/taste

  • Difficulty breathing


Please contact our office at (805) 488-3541, if your child tests positive so that we may connect you with our health office team . They will assist and support you with your COVID related questions.

Please make all of the necessary transportation arrangements to pick up your child early every Wednesday. Please review our early dismissal schedule below:


  • TK: 8:00-11:21 am
  • K: 8:00-12:15 pm
  • Grades 1-3: 8:00-12:35 pm
  • Grades 4-5: 8:00-12:45 pm

ELO Summer School Interest Forms

Character Counts Trait: Fairness

During the month of April , we'll be celebrating the character trait of "fairness." We invite students to wear ORANGE tops/shirts, bottoms, hats, socks and shoes on Character Counts Fridays this month.


Fairness: Take turns and share • Play by the rules • Avoid blaming others • Listen to the ideas of others

TK-5th Panorama SEL Survey

TK-5th grade students will be asked to reflect on their social-emotional learning experience. They will be participating in two quick surveys that will help the Williams team learn more about how they can best support students. Thank you for your participation!

In-N-Out Cookout Fundraiser

In-N-Out is delighted to support Williams School's PTA fundraising efforts. PTA will be selling $5.00 dinner tickets which buys you a cheeseburger, chips and a drink. Tickets will be sold before and after school in May. TICKETS WILL BE PRE-SALE ONLY! The In-N-Out big rig will be here on Tuesday, 05/24/22 from 5:30-7:00 pm so families can cruise by to pick up their dinner boxes. The Student Spring Art Show will be on display at Williams that night too!

Parking Lot Safety

Our campus assistants (supervisors) will be following the parking lot closure schedule below. ONLY staff with a Williams parking permit and drivers with a handicapped placard will be allowed into the parking lot at the front of the school during these times. Please plan to drop off your child at the street curb along Anchorage Street during these times. Our parking lot closure times will be as follows:


  • ARRIVAL: Closed from 7:45-8:00 am (Monday-Friday)


  • DISMISSAL: Closed from 2:10-2:40 pm (M/T/Th/F)


  • EARLY DISMISSAL: Closed from 12:20-12:55 pm (Wednesdays)

Register for TK & K TODAY!

TK/K registration is NOW OPEN. Our office can assist you with your 2022-23 TK-K registration packet on the following days/times: Monday-Friday from 9:00-11:00 am & 1:00-2:00 pm. Please note the age requirements for TK and K below:


  • Transitional Kindergarten - To enroll in TK, students must turn 5 years old between 09/02/2022-06/02/2023.


  • Kindergarten - To enroll in K, students must turn 5 years old on or before 09/01/2022.

Williams teachers will be meeting with families for spring parent conferences. Please confirm with your child's teacher whether your child will be needing a spring conference.

Oxnard College Family Festival - May 1


Please check out the flyer for this FREE community event. Oxnard College will be hosting their first Family Festival on Sunday, 05/01/2022 from 12:00-3:00 pm.

VC Library Reading Challenge

Ventura County Library launches its “Read Beyond the Beaten Path!” summer reading challenge on May 15, 2022. Over the summer, the library will host a range of free activities for children, teens, and adults to encourage and support a love of reading.


Themed events include bi-weekly STEAM Kits and challenges, participation in the library’s online reading and activity log (register at vencolibrary.beanstack.org), themed Storytimes, and a closing party hosted by Kona Ice. This year Ventura County Library is giving away 13 Nintendo Switch Grand Prizes as well as smaller STEAM prizes, including musical instruments, throughout the summer. In addition, once a child has logged 500 minutes, they may visit their local branch to choose a free new book to add to their home libraries.


Registration continues through August 14, 2022. To learn more about the summer reading adventure at the library, please check out the library’s website at vencolibrary.org. We hope you will share the attached letters and flyer with your school communities.
