January is School Board Recognition Month. I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the members of our school board. Their unwavering commitment, tireless efforts, and strategic decision-making contribute significantly to the success of our educational community.
Please join me in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our school board members. Whether attending countless meetings, collaborating with various stakeholders, or advocating for the best interests of our students, they play an instrumental role in the continued growth and improvement of our district.

Ms. Margaret Gamble was recognized by the Board for 20 years of service. She was presented with a lapel pin and a certificate for her service.
Education Hall of Fame
Education Hall of Fame nominations are due by Friday, Feb. 2, 2024.
Remember Inductees from the teacher, administrator or Board member categories must have completed their educational careers in Lancaster County and cannot be inducted into the Hall of Fame until the year after their service ended.

2024 4K Registration
The first day of 4K screening will be Monday, February 19. In order for a child to be screened, all required registration documents must be turned into the child's home school BEFORE the screening date.
Bring a copy of the following documents to your local school:
–Parent/Guardian Photo ID
– Birth Certificate (child must be 4 by September 1, 2024)
– Immunization Record
– 2 Proofs of Residency
– Proof of Income Eligibility (child’s Medicaid card, household W-2, or pay stub)

Gold Cards
Lancaster County residents 65 and older are eligible for a free Gold Card from our district. A Gold Card entitles you to get into any regular season sporting event (playoffs are exempt) in our school district free of charge. If you are a resident age 65 or older, you can order a LCSD Gold Card by filling out the form below. The communications office will send your Gold Card to you in the mail. Thanks for supporting Lancaster County Schools!

Feb. 16: Student and Staff holiday
Feb. 19: Professional development - no students attend
Feb. 22: High school report cards issued
March 8: Teacher workday - no students (Make-up day, if needed -Comp for parent/teacher conferences)
March 21: Third elementary reporting period ends – Third middle school reporting period ends – Sixth high school reporting period ends
March 28: Elementary/middle/high school report cards issued
April 1-5: Spring break - schools & offices closed
