Traver Talk
As we move through Semester 2 and are a month in many classes have completed their first summative assessments recorded. We currently have 692 students taking 3,880 classes. Of those classes we have pulled the letter grades. Here's a breakdown of how our CHS students are performing overall:
- 62% of all grades - A and B grades
- 19% of all grades- C and D grades
- 19% of all grades- E grade
On the right the chart shows academic success broken down by age. At CHS we do our best to recognize those students who achieve honors. Underclassmen will be recognized at the Honors Celebration, scheduled to be held on 5/02/24, and our Seniors will be recognized for their achievements at a formal honors ceremony on 5/16/24.
If your student is looking for academic support we offer a range of resources. Students who are recognized as needing support are tracked through our MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) so that we can best provide interventions to them within their school day.
Additionally, we offer the following resources:
- Seminar: Available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, students can request a pass to another teacher for extra help or to make up assessments.
- After-School Tutoring: Held in the media center from 2:30-4:30, Monday through Thursday. Bussing is provided for students living in the district.
- NHS Student Support: National Honor Society students are available during seminar sessions to work one-on-one with students.
- Teacher Contact: If you have any questions or concerns about your child's academic progress, please reach out to their teachers. Contact information for all teachers can be found here. Lesson plans for all classes can also be accessed here, organized by teacher.
- Varsity Tutors: Students can log in here with their Google account to build skills and receive homework help of any kind. This is a 24/7 tutoring system that is free where students can get the one-on-one help they need.
Thank you for being valued partners in our students' success.
