Upcoming Student Conferences
Spring 2024
Dear Families,
As we gear up for our spring conferences, it's important to note a couple of key differences from our fall sessions. Unlike the fall, where we had a full day dedicated to conferences, allowing for numerous appointment slots, the spring schedule is more constrained, offering limited availability.
The fall conferences served as a foundational period for setting annual goals for our students. In contrast, our spring conferences are designed to touch base on these goals and assess progress. Given the tighter schedule this spring, we kindly request families who have recently engaged in discussions with their child's teacher—whether through an IEP meeting or any meeting in the last month—to consider foregoing a conference slot this time. This thoughtful approach will help ensure that families who haven't had recent communications have the opportunity to meet with teachers.
We understand the importance of staying informed about your child's progress and want to reassure you that there are several ways to do so. If you feel up-to-date with your child's development or find scheduling challenging, remember that teachers are readily available to provide updates via email or a phone call. Additionally, the report cards due in mid-March will offer a comprehensive overview of your child's achievements and areas for improvement.
Our goal is to foster effective communication and support every student's journey. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making the most of this spring's conference schedule. Your partnership is crucial to us, and we're committed to ensuring all families have the opportunity to connect with teachers as needed.
Conferences are the afternoon and evening of February 29 and the afternoon of March 8. Pick-A-Time, our conference scheduling site, will open this evening, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. To schedule a conference, please visit the "Burbank Bulletin" section on the front page of our school website: https://nashobarsdma.sites.thrillshare.com/o/lbms or click this link.
Spring conferences will be held virtually, with an option for in-person conferences for families who may prefer that format. The February 29 evening session (5:30 - 8:00) has been set aside for in-person conferences with the remaining times devoted to virtual conferences. Information regarding virtual format and meeting links will be sent to families via email prior to the first conference date.
It may also be a helpful reminder that middle school conferences are not booked with homeroom teachers. Conferences should be booked with your child’s academic teachers, related arts teachers, and, if applicable, related service providers.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me at jursuliak@nrsd.net or 978-365-4558 if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Judy
