Meet Your Teacher!

Greetings, and welcome to Columbia High School! This letter is for students new to Columbia and new to the English language, as well as their parents and guardians. We are so glad you are here at our school! My name is Mrs. Heins and I am the teacher of students new to English. I have worked at Columbia since 2010. I love being a Wildcat! I am originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I enjoy skiing, gardening, food preserving, cooking, and riding my motorcycle. I have a husband, two little boys, and a little daughter.

Our ESL Class

Our ESL class focuses both on English language acquisition as well as support for other classes. We will do activities and projects that help us learn English through reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We will also have time to work on homework in class and get support from me, your teacher. We will also take the time to learn where things are in the school as well as school procedures.
