Word from the Wildcats
December 6, 2023
Greetings, Wildcats!
As we step into the festive month of December, our school is buzzing with excitement and a special focus on our character trait of the month: Generosity. This season, more than ever, provides a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn and demonstrate acts of kindness, sharing, and giving. From community service projects (like the Kindergarten pajama drive), to in-class discussions on the importance of being generous, we aim to instill in our students the joy and responsibility of contributing positively to those around them. We look forward to a month filled with warmth, giving, and learning, and can't wait to see the many ways our students will express their generosity.

Parent Drop-Off
The chute must be used for both drop-off and pick-up for any child in grades 1-4 who do not take the bus. This policy is to ensure that everyone stays safe. We have blocked off a safe path for kindergarten student drop-off, and we have several adults monitoring the students and cars by the gym door. We do not want to risk students walking into oncoming traffic, especially if the weather turns. Also, please stay in your vehicle--the adults on duty will help your child if necessary. Finally, do not drive around people to exit the chute. We appreciate everyone's help and cooperation with the drop-off procedure!

Talking to Children in Troubling Times
When there are threats of violence reported, it can be difficult to know what to say to our children, and when to say it. While some students may be blissfully unaware that these threats can happen, others may be thinking about these worries when they are coming to school. While our school adjustment counselors, Jill Carroll and Nicole Power, have been on high alert since Dr. Bailey's report on Sunday, November 26th, they have not had students reporting any related concerns. If you are concerned about how to talk to your child about this issue, take your cues from your child as you look for signs they want to talk. We have included a resource below with more information.
