I'm sure you know it's only one of my favorite books of this year. Author Dusti Bowling has shared with me a short story about Connor and Aven that I would LOVE to read aloud to you! Dusti has asked me not to record it, so I need to do a live read aloud. Here are a few options for you to pop in to hear this amazing story, Aven's 4th of July!

If you are a 2nd or 3rd grader, and think you're a Pebble Go Pro, come join me in a Google Hangout by clicking the link in our "virtual library" or by using the link here! Get ready to find some fun questions with Pebble Go, one of our favorite go-to resources!

The Battle of the Books List has been published for 3rd & 4th Graders and this year there are 40 books! I will tell you, this book list looks AMAZING! I'm working on getting some of the books digitally though Destiny Discover, however, I also know that the Park Ridge Library has posted some other ways you can start reading, and Miss Lisa has even found some of these books in Little Free Libraries around Park Ridge!

We will be restructuring how we do Battle this year and doing BATTLES at Field in November/December before the ones at the library start, with more details to come. But the best thing you can do is START READING NOW!!!

We will have a Battle of the Books informational "lunch" meeting called "Battle Books & Bites" on Tuesdays from 12:00-12:30 p.m. where we can talk Battle of the Books, and I can book talk some of the books! If you are interested in Battle of the Books, join us on Tuesday and I'll explain how our meetings will work.

On Wednesdays, at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. I am holding optional meetings for students who have their own WONDER that they would like to research. I am guiding them in the research process for something they wish to research on their own, then will choose what they want their final research project to be. So far we have some pretty amazing ideas! If you'd like to join us, please join our Google Classroom with the code efnfsfz - then I will make the link "live" in Google Classroom 5-10 minutes before each hangout. I'm excited for this optional opportunity to see Wonders develop into student created projects!

I just started Reading for the Battle List so here's what I'm currently reading for the Battle List. :)

I'm also reading some grown up books for a book club with some other moms. Lots of time for reading right now and loving the ability to read outside! If you need book recommendations, feel free to reach out. I'd love to help you find some good books!
