As a reminder, ALL Washington Township Schools will be CLOSED for students next Monday, January 15th, 2024. Schools will re-open on Tuesday, January 16th.

Earlier this school year, we held a school wide contest for students to create a T-Shirt to best represent our We Are Panthers school motto. Students designs were reviewed by LVMS Staff Members and top designs for each house and grade level were voted on by all LVMS Students.

Join us on Tuesday, January 30th in the LVMS PAC where we will welcome Mr. Richard Guerry back from the Institute for Responsible Online and Cellphone Communication (IROC2) for a community presentation. Mr. Guerry will present on responsible use of technology. This presentation will also be viewed by students during the school day on Tuesday, January 30th.

Don't forget this Friday, January 12th is our next Spirit Day. It's "Fancy Friday". Dress up in your stylish, fanciest attire to win points for your house.

Please see two important announcements from West Morris Central HS regarding transition to high school events for BOTH parents and students

The program is designed for BOTH students and parents to get an overview of the scheduling process, information regarding courses / curriculum, and a building tour.

**January 17, 2024 at 6:30 PM is the make up date in the event of snow**

High school counselors will be at Long Valley Middle School during the month of February to meet with incoming 9th grade students and their parents/guardians to select courses. To schedule your student’s appointment please go to https://jwagner-6.youcanbook.me and select your student’s counselor. If you do not know your student’s counselor, please email Mrs. Joey Wagner at jwagner@wmrhsd.org. Each meeting will be approximately 20 minutes.

As we enter the New Year, parents please take a moment to review the expectations that we have for all students while riding the bus to and from LVMS. This was a topic that was reviewed with students during House Meetings last week with Mr. Ippolito and Mr. Mirabella.

• Basic Expectations for the Bus

• Follow the direction of the bus driver

• Stay Seated / Buckled at all Times

• Keep the bus safe and clean: No Food / Eating;

• Arms, legs, head out of the aisles and inside the windows of the bus

• Speak Quietly (indoor voices)

• No Chromebook Usage

• Consequences

• Warning from bus driver

• Move seat to front for 2 days (4 rides)

• Bus Conduct Report to School Administration

• Possible administrative detention or suspension from bus

The Nation Junior Honor Society (NJHS) application is now available to students. Students interested in applying for NJHS should complete the application highlighting their Leadership Experience, Service Activities, Community Activities, and Work Experience. All applicants are reviewed by the Faculty Council to determine a students eligibility for membership. Applications are due to Mrs. Smith by Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at 3:30 PM. Late or incomplete applications cannot be accepted.
