Reminders/ Updates
Fall into Reading Challenge: In an effort increase reading at home we will kick off a reading challenge on Tuesday October 10th. Teachers will send each student home with a sheet of pumpkin templates on colored. Each pumpkin represents 20 minutes of reading and includes a spot for the student's name and the date. Students and families will be asked to cut the pumpkins out each time they read for 20 minutes and send them in to school. We will add the pumpkins to a bulletin board in the main lobby to highlight our students efforts with reading at home. There will be a challenge amongst grade levels to see which grade level reads for the most minutes. The winning grade level can decide on the reward for their students. Each grade level will have different colored pumpkin paper to make the tracking easier. In order to include all levels of readers, families can read to or with a student as well as students reading independently. We will wrap up the challenge on October 31st.
Breakfast Reminder: If your child is interested in ordering breakfast, please be reminded you can order weekly, monthly, or they could go ahead and order for the entire school year. The online breakfast ordering is currently open for the rest of this school year. Please visit the Food Services website.
CORI Forms: To volunteer in your child's classroom, field trip, etc. a CORI form must be completed. After completion, they are valid for up to 3 years. CORI forms must be completed in person with our main office staff during business hours, no appointment is needed. A valid drivers license is needed at the time of completion.
Make up Picture Day: Retakes and/or makeups for student photographs with O'Connor Studios will be on Tuesday, November 14.

FREE Event - at the CHS Performing Arts Center
The Chelmsford Middle School PTOs are offering families a FREE evening of entertainment on Thursday, October 12th from 7-8pm in the CHS Performing Arts Center (PAC).
Perhaps your student has come home in the past raving about this amazing speed painter they got to see at an assembly in their school? Now's your chance to see what all the hype was about! Join us for an hour-long mesmerizing performance by ROB SURETTE and his AMAZING HERO ART!
Rob hails from Andover and is a Top-Tier Master Fine Artist for Disney and STAR WARS. He's had guest appearances on numerous television shows and at celebrity functions. He's created art from LEGO bricks, gumballs, lipstick, Lite Brite pegs, and more!
For the Chelmsford Middle School community, Rob will be performing his award-winning "BE SOMEBODY!" speed-painting show. Thirty years ago, Rob created this show hoping that he could flood kids' minds and hearts for one hour with awe, hope, beauty, love and self empowerment: inspire them to aim at the highest possible good in life; and change the way they look at the world. Since then, he has performed it over 4,000 times!
Join us for this amazing feel-good hour: Reserve your seat now with this link: https://signup.com/go/GvXSPjm
