MAP Testing Begins Tuesday, May 10

MAP testing starts for our 3rd-5th grade students. The next two weeks, students will be tested on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The MAP Assessment is given annually to 3rd-5th grade students. The MAP assessments test students’ progress toward mastery of the Missouri Show-Me Standards. MAP assessments cover reading and math standards for grades 3-5, an additional writing assessment for 4th grade, and an additional science assessment for 5th grade.

This year, we are providing rewards for students after the MAP session ends during the week of May 23. In order to be eligible for the rewards, students need to be prepared, do their best, and follow directions. 3rd grade students will be going to the city park to eat lunch and play, where an ice cream truck will meet them. 4th grade is going to Planet Gymnastics (Parents need to complete the waiver/permission slip before students can participate). 5th grade students will be going to Great 8 Cinema to watch Bad Guys. We also provide snacks for students on these days, in addition to their free breakfast that all students are eligible for. Before testing, students will watch a motivational announcement from a staff member to remind them to do their best work.

It is important that your student(s) get here on time during MAP testing. If a student is late, they will not be allowed to go up to class until testing is completed and will have to make up their test(s) for that day. Please encourage your child to get a good night's sleep each night and do their Wildcat Best during the MAP assessments.

Summer School Registration Deadline

The Summer School registration deadline has passed. Please call ASAP if you are interested in Summer School and you haven't registered.

If you are needing transportation for Summer School, please ensure you have that portion of the form completed correctly.

Summer School dates: June 2 to June 29

Time: 8:00am -3:00pm

Free breakfast, free lunch, fun and engaging activities centered around academics, and transportation is provided. Students also have the opportunity to win prizes and earn money for attending summer school.

High school theater students put on shows for 1st grade

Our high school students performed children's books for our first grade students on April 27. Gaston, Where The Wild Things Are, and How I Met My Monster were the plays the high schools students performed for us. Our first grade students loved the performances!

STEM Library visited Central Elementary

The Scenic Regional Library has been to our building several times in the past two weeks to allow our students to engage in more hands-on STEM related activities and explore with STEM. All grade levels have been able to participate and spend time with the STEM activities.

Field Day (1st-5th grade) t shirt orders are due & volunteering

Our Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 20 for all 1st-5th grade students.

Kindergarten students will go to the park on this day

Lost and Found Donations

We will be donating all lost and found clothing and cold weather gear next week with whatever is left after this Friday, May 13. If you are missing items, please come and check the lost and found out or have your child check before the end of the week.

Last Day of School

Our last day of the 2021-2022 school year will be Thursday, May 26. This is a half day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:45.

Student Choir Performances

Shoutout to a our student choir for their hard work and dedication every Tuesday morning. They performed at the Festival of Choirs last Monday and sounded fantastic. Their next performance is Tuesday, May 31 at the Cardinals baseball game.
