Principal's Message
Welcome to August! I am pleased to introduce myself, Cari Sloan, as the new principal of Canby High School. I grew up in this area, and I am so excited to serve our community in this role. We are excited to connect with our families. It has been a busy summer at CHS. We have hosted summer school and various camps, and it has been great to see students out and about in the community.
The construction work from the 2020 bond is in full swing. We look forward to a new wing opening in the Fall of 2023. Thank you for supporting our schools with the passage of this bond. Our science classrooms will get a much needed upgrade along with safety and security enhancements and various other improvements around the school.
We are right around the corner from our Fall Athletic season, and our athletes have had a busy summer. Please see the athletic tab below for important information regarding fall sports practices which start on August 15th.
School registration is online at this link. We are holding registration events on Tuesday, August 23 & Thursday, August 25 from 12-7 in the Applied Technology Building (ATC). During these times, students will take pictures and get student IDs and get lockers and parking passes. New students can get registered at this time, and we will have computers available for those families who need assistance with registering online.
The CHS office is open during August from 8-3. It is located in the 4th Street Center due to construction. I hope you are enjoying your summer. I will send a newsletter every Wednesday with more information.

Childcare Job Opportunity
We are hoping to establish an after-school childcare program from 2:30-4:30 p.m. beginning next school year, with a long-term goal of having a location at each elementary school. As we build this program, we need staffing to support this goal. We are looking for both site leads and assistants. Site leads would work about 3 hours daily. Childcare assistants could work up to two hours per day, and schedules can vary. If you have any interest in working some hours and being a part of this exciting new program in our school district, then please apply today.
