GCJHS News
2. ILEARN testing dates - April 12th and the week of April 18th-22nd. We ask that you not schedule any appointments for your students on these dates . . . . it will help them finish their tests with their classmates.
3. A HUGE congratulations to the GCJH Fusionettes dance team. They participated in the state competition on Saturday, March 12th and finished 5th in Pom and were the STATE RUNNER-UP in the jazz division!
4. SPRING STUDENT PICTURES: Mark your calendars for April 22nd. We will share more information as we get closer to the date.
5. Spring Sports . . . Important details for Physical Night:
- Date: Thursday, April 14th
- Cost: $25 (will accept credit card, cash and checks) by appointment only using the link to Signup Genius - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c49adae28a0fec25-gcphysical1
Paperwork needed:
- Parental Consent (completed and signed)
- HSAA Pre Participation Physical form (history portion filled out before appointment)
- If your student-athlete has tested positive for COVID 19 in the last 6 months then your doctor will do a more comprehensive evaluation and a "Return to Play" clearance will be given. If your student-athlete has already had the cardiac exam and has a "Return to Play" clearance, please bring a copy with you.
- Please show up 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

GC Physical Night.
6. The GCJH Athletic Department is clearing out some old uniforms and apparel. Items are available for students to purchase for $3 or $5. Students must complete this Google Form (https://forms.gle/RQFAwxNjF1gpvSRx6) for each item they wish to purchase. Everything is first come, first served. Money must be collected before the items will be distributed. The form includes pictures of each item available for purchase, as well as sizes/quantities of each item.
7. There is a Spring Bazaar going on at G-CHS on April 9th. Check out the flyer below for more information.
8. Our school lunch menu has been updated for this quarter. See the newest menu below in the flyer section.
9. A SHARING TABLE will be added to our cafeteria beginning April 4th. Students may place unwanted cafeteria food items (unopened packages only) on this table. Students may also take items from the table to eat during that lunch period. Food that is not eaten that day will be donated to a local food pantry.
10. Ivy Tech Community College - Anderson and Hancock Regional Health are inviting you to be a part of our Get to Know Us Community Event. The community event will take place on Wednesday, April 20th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Hancock Wellness Center at Healthway Park. Don’t miss out on FREE food from Karma’s Kitchen, live music from Magnolia Soul and all things Ivy Tech.

13. The Hancock County Children’s Theater is currently accepting applications for their summer program. If your child is interested in acting, singing, dancing, art, or theater tech, be sure to turn in an application. Go to hancockcountychildrenstheater.org and fill out an application.
14. There will be an 8th Grade Dance this May! Your students received an email today with the details. See all the information below :)
15. The ISSMA (Indiana State School Music Association) JME (Junior/Middle/Elementary) Organization Festival is this weekend. GCJHS will be serving as hosts for approximately 30 Bands, Choirs and Orchestras from around the state, coming from as far as Bloomington, Plymouth, Muncie and Switzerland (county, that is). This is the State evaluation for these groups. It is much like a normal concert, the difference being that three adjudicators will evaluate their performance.

PSAT 8/9 Scores are NOW available . . .
PSAT 8/9 scores are now available for 8th grade students who took the assessment in December. Parents and students can access score reports by creating a student account with College Board. To get started, use this link: https://account.collegeboard.org/login/signUp.
Select “I’m a student”
Using the student’s information, fill in the boxes in the “General Information” section. The student’s G-C email address can be used when required. It is the student’s ID number “@students.gcsc.k12.in.us.”
Create a username and password and provide the account security questions/answers.
Provide the required parent information.
Once the account is established, and you’ve logged in, click on the student’s name at the top of the screen. Then select “PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9 scores”
In the “Score Overview” and “Score Details” areas of the site, you can see the student’s overall score (range of 240-1440), their percentile compared to other students who took the assessment, and their individual scores for reading/writing and math.
