Principal's Corner
Thank you for continuing to support Teaching and Learning at Annistown. We are working hard to catch our students up and ensure that they are progressing academically, socially and emotionally. I ask that you continue to partner with us in their success by monitoring their homework, studying for tests and reading every night for 15-30 minutes. Last week, you should have receive the first progress report via email so that you can see your child's grades as well as any missing assignments. You can expect a progress report every two to three weeks and you can always see your child's grades, and other important information, on the Parent Portal. Specific progress report dates are listed on our school calendar.
I know the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases is concerning to so many. It concerns me, as well. Let's make sure we are doing everything we can to mitigate the spread... wash hands often, exercise good coughing/sneezing practice, and ensuring that students only come to school in good health. Also, please continue to make sure that your child has a comfortable and clean mask to wear while in the building to school.
I am pleased to report that after the first few weeks of school, our car rider processes are balancing out. A huge shout out to our car rider staff outside in the morning and afternoon that make everything work safely and efficiently. A few of our buses continue to face a few challenges. Unfortunately, some of our buses have to 'double-back' for another route which pushes back our pick up and drop off times.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.
Generals Salute,
Gwenda Nimmo - Smith
Principal
