Informational Newsletter for Central Elementary Families
...and it's February
We are working to get back into our routines and get back to normalcy after our winter break and getting through all the of the winter weather days. Last week was our first full week of school since the week of December 11th! We have finished up FastBridge Assessments. The 100th day of school is Wednesday (February 7) and we are clearly over the halfway mark for the school year. We are looking forward to these last four months of the school year and intend on finishing the year strong! Read below for information on the month of February at Central Elementary.
As is always the case, please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help and support our students and families.

100th Day of School
This Wednesday (February 7) is the 100th day of school. We a have a fun school wide book hunt that will be taking place the whole day. If students find a special numbered book in the building that day, they get to display and tape that book on our 100 number chart outside of the library. Special announcements will be made over the intercom for students to look for a specific numbered book. Students will enjoy the extra challenge on Wednesday to hunt for books.
Promoting Literacy Through Our Library
In addition to the student author spotlight, our library sponsors the Birthday Book Cart (students get to pick out a book for their birthday), our library sponsors the Little Free Library on our playground (students can select books to read during recess), and the library manages our book vending machine that our students of the month get to pick books from.
UPCOMING NO SCHOOL DAYS
School will be closed on Monday, February 19, for President's Day.
Valentine's Day Parties
Classroom Valentine's Day parties will take place on Wednesday, February 14. Parties will run from 1:30-2:15. Each classroom will have its own party. Be on the lookout for more information and details from classroom teachers.
