Making to Serve
Challenges for the hands, head and heart!
Why Service Based Maker Projects?
The maker movement is a growing trend in education. Students are encouraged to tinker, invent, design and think outside of the box. This resource focuses on taking maker challenges one step further and connecting them to service related projects. This is a natural complement to Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
CASEL research points to these 5 SEL Core Competencies: Self Awareness, Self Manage, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making. Check out suggestions below on how to connect these key areas to the Maker Movement.
