February 27th is ACT for Juniors
Please ensure all 11th-grade students are here early, fueled with a good night's sleep and a protein-rich breakfast. Unfortunately, students who arrive after 8:30 am will be unable to take advantage of this free opportunity for the ACT testing.
March 1st School in Session.
This was initially scheduled as a non-school day for students and a time to schedule parent-teacher conferences. Due to our wintry weather, it will now be a weather makeup day. Classes will be in session.
March 4th - 7th is the English Language Proficiency Assessment
ELPA testing is for select students. Your student has been informed if they are taking this exam. If you have questions about ELPA testing, please contact Ty Stephenson at tstephenson@artsk12.org.
March 5th from 4:30-6:30 pm Parent-Teacher Conferences
These are drop-ins, and no appointments are necessary. All teachers will be centrally located (as in fall parent-teacher conferences), and students' most recent iReady data will be available for pick up and discussion with teachers. If you cannot make this date, you are always welcome to schedule a conference with any of your child's teachers. Email them, and they will happily arrange a time with you.
March 6th Honor Roll Assembly
Students in grades 10-12 will assemble at 1:05 in the PAC. The Class of 2024 Valedictorian and Salutatorian will announced at this time. Students in grades 7-9 will assemble at 2:35 in the PAC. If you have questions about the Honor Roll Assembly, please contact Dr. Langley for students in grades 7-9 at elangley@artsk12.org or Ms. Dale for students in grades 10-12 at jdale@artsk12.org.
March 8th is the ATLAS Writing exam
Grades 7-10 students. ATLAS is Arkansas's new standardized assessment platform that replaces Aspire. It is important that students arrive prepared to do their best: be on time (no later than 8:30 am), fueled with a good breakfast and a good night's sleep. ATLAS has four components. AAA is choosing to test different components on different days to give students the most opportunities to do their best on each test. The English, Science, and Math ATLAS Summatives will be scheduled in May.
We are recruiting retired teachers to tutor students during the school day on a grant from the state. You can get paid to get trained and then make $30 an hour with a flexible schedule.

SHOUTOUTS
Orchestra
The chamber orchestra had a wonderful time performing in the lobby of The Walton Arts Center before SoNA’s “Defying Expectations” symphony performance
7th Grade Math
One of the benefits of having our junior high students on campus at our high school- peer tutoring! Last week, Ms Arnold’s 7th grade honors class visited a 10th grade geometry class to receive one-on-one support from advanced geometry students where they learned about angle relationships and application of equation solving. A math revolution is happening at AAA!
Valentines Day Dance
7th-9th graders had a great time at the valentines dance!

REMINDERS
Car Line Information
Hey parents! Just a friendly reminder about our high school car line etiquette! Let's keep things running smoothly for everyone:
Pull ALL the way up: Help speed up the line by pulling your car all the way to the front.
Stay in your car: For the safety of all, please remain in your vehicle.
Be patient: We're all in this together! Let's be patient and considerate of one another.
Please review the carline map!
Thanks for being awesome! Let's make the car line a breeze! #SchoolTraffic #CarLineEtiquette #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork
Message from the Health Office
We hope everyone is well as we move through the sick season. We would like to recommend an app called NARCANsas to our staff and families. While opioid prescription rates in Arkansas have decreased over the last 5 years, Arkansas remains the 2nd highest state in the nation for opioid prescription rate. NARCANsas is a free opioid overdose resource that contains tools and resources for those in recovery, peers, family, and friends. The app has step-by-step instructions for administering Narcan, or naloxone, in the event of an opioid overdose. It also has information about opioid pain management, contact information for treatment and recovery related to opioid addiction, and information about access to NARCAN kits. We have NARCAN doses available on both campuses. At the high school, the doses are in the health office and the front office. At the elementary school they are in the health office. We also have NARCAN kits on our buses. Please reach out to your campus nurse if you have any questions.
