The next Parent University event is coming soon! Parents are invited to attend a variety of sessions on supporting your students, safety, and navigating school technology and systems. The format will be similar to a mini-conference with concurrent sessions on different topics relevant to parents and caregivers. You will have the option of attending which sessions are of interest to you. REGISTER NOW!

It’s Time to Celebrate Amazing Woodland Teachers!
The Village of Gurnee is once again sponsoring the Teacher of the Year Award to recognize teachers from Woodland District 50, Gurnee District 56, and Warren Township High School.
The Teacher of the Year award recognizes the excellent teachers who support the students in our learning community. We invite you to recognize teachers of all types such as homeroom or core subject teachers, art, music, specialists, interventionists, physical education, special education, health, computer and more. All certified staff are eligible for nomination.
Teacher of the Year Criteria
Do you know a teacher who...
- inspires students from all backgrounds, abilities, and academic levels to do their best in school?
- contributes their time and talents to make #LifeintheW a great place to learn?
- leads or participates in activities that have a positive impact on the climate and culture of their school?
- creates a climate of caring, respect, ownership, acceptance and responsibility, inside and outside the classroom?
- engages families in instructional programming and in the learning community?

Nominations will be accepted through Monday, Jan. 29, 2024. The 2024 Gurnee Teacher of the Year will be announced in April. Nominate an amazing teacher today!
The winning Woodland teacher will receive a plaque, a check for $1,000 to be used in their classroom, and they will be recognized at the Village of Gurnee Board meeting, and the Woodland D50 Board of Education meeting in May.
