Bell High School
Principals Update Week 30
From The Desk of Rafael L. Balderas, Principal
Greetings Bell HS Family,
I hope this message finds you and your family in great health and sound in mind.
Recently Superintendent Beutner announced because of our safety protocols, and declining COVID rates, I am excited to announce our school will be reopening the week of April 26th.
To ensure a smooth transition, we will stagger the reopening dates the week of April 26. We will share specific dates, schedules and protocols during a Community Forum the week of April 5th.
To better assess how many students will be returning on a hybrid model and if you have not yet done so, please complete the Program Selection Form by using the following link: https://reopening.lausd.net/en/SpringRC. Letting us know whether your child will be returning to school or remaining online will help us plan for the rest of the school year.
If your child will be returning to school, he or she must take a COVID test the week before the start of school and must have a negative result. Los Angeles Unified provides free COVID tests for students and their families at dozens of school sites around the district.
Please use your Parent Portal account to log onto the Daily Pass website to schedule your child’s test. You can also schedule an appointment by calling the help desk at (213) 443-1300.
If you need help or have questions, please call our office at (323) 832-4700. We look forward to welcoming our students back to a safe learning environment!
Secondly, A Return to Campus Family Guide is now available, with detailed information to help you decide whether your child will return to school for the remainder of the semester or continue with online instruction. Please download the English guide here: https://reopening.lausd.net/familyguide
and the Spanish guide here: https://achieve.lausd.net/cms/lib/CA01000043/Centricity/Domain/4/family%20guide_spanish.pdf you may download on any mobile or digital device, and read it carefully.
In conclusion, I will continue to reiterate, If we are to return to any model of face to face learning, EVERYONE must do their part by wearing a mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands, Covid test and remain home. We Got This!
In Partnership,
Rafael L. Balderas, Principal
