HS Fall Semester Test Exemption Policy
ONLY High School Students Grades 9-12
The end of the fall semester is fast approaching. This means students will be completing the first half of their courses and will be taking semester tests in each class, which will be scheduled the week before Christmas break.
We are following the semester test exemption policy for high school students grades 9-12 based on each class semester average and attendance. In order to be exempt from a semester test, students MUST meet the following requirements for each course:
0 Absences = must have 70 average or higher in class
1 Absence = must have 78 average or higher in class
2 Absences = must have 85 average or higher in class
3 Absences = must have 90 average or higher in class
4 or more Absences = NOT EXEMPT
UNEXCUSED Absences = NOT EXEMPT
3 Tardies in a class = 1 Absence in the class
Odd Periods will be tested on December 14. Even periods will be tested on December 15. Semester Test Corrections will be made on December 16.
First Semester, attendance will count through Friday, December 9 for semester test exemption purposes. Students must be in attendance for the class periods they do meet exemption requirements.
Students who are exempt from all semester tests do not have to come to school on Thursday or Friday. If exempt students miss school December 12-14, they will not be exempt from semester tests in the Spring.
Students who are NOT exempt from all semester tests only have to be at school for the tests they are required to take. However, if students ride the bus, they will not be allowed to leave campus unless a parent picks them up. If nonexempt students miss school on December 12-16, they will not be exempt from semester tests in the Spring.
