Dear Canby School District Families,
As we communicated earlier this week, the state indoor mask mandate for schools will be lifted on March 31, and at that time, school districts can implement local mask protocols. Since the announcement, we have worked with our local public health authority, school board, and staff to determine what this will look like in Canby.
Based on the input we’ve received, face coverings will be optional in the Canby School District beginning March 31.
We plan to collaborate with our local health authority on the details of topics like contact tracing and quarantine. We also expect to receive and process new guidance from the Oregon Department of Education and will update our protocols accordingly.
We are grateful for our wonderful students, families, and staff who have partnered with us to make this a great school year so far. We appreciate your continued partnership as we wear face coverings indoors at our schools until March 31, as required.
As always, we will keep the lines of communication open throughout this transition period.
