Reflections from Pastor Jennifer
God demonstrated the same type of abundant blessings in the book of Acts. Thousands were saved because the Lord moved upon their hearts. People were being added to the church daily because they wanted to receive salvation.
Our Pentecostal roots run deep. We can trace them all the way back to that first Christian Pentecost in Acts. Like them, we must be people of the Spirit, people of the Word, and people of koinonia (fellowship).

Let's Prepare our hearts to receive from God
CCOG Spirit Week
Monday - Use “Lectio Divina” to Meditate on Psalm 122. Lectio Divina means "Divine Reading". To do this, we read the verse(s) multiple times. Then, we meditate upon our connection to the passage. Next, ask God what He is showing you through the text. Finally, use the text in prayer.
Tuesday - Spend time in self examination and confession. Often we can easily see the speck in our fellow believer's eye while ignoring the beam in our own eye. On this day, make your prayer like that old song you may remember, "It's me, it's me, oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer!"
Wednesday - Fellowship/Serve in Love at Church Clean-Up. There will be something for everyone to do :)
Thursday - Pray extra today - maybe even call a friend to join you in prayer. There is power in prayerful agreement. The Lord takes special notice when we agree with another believer to make requests of Him.
Friday - fast today (food, a meal, caffeine, social media…). If something is important, but not necessary, lay it aside this day. If there is a distraction that keeps you from being fully engaged in prayer and study, give it up.
Saturday - Get your heart focused on the Lord with a special time of worship. This could mean taking a walk to appreciate His creation. This could mean listening to the songs that describe what you would like to say to God. However you choose to worship, make it all about Him.
Sunday - Homecoming 2023!!! Bring guests with you to church! We cannot wait to see you there!
