Friday, February 16th the UA BIPOC Student Group is sponsoring a UA Culture Day and we need your help!

Who: ALL UA Students (Grades 9-12)

What: BIPOC Staff Q&A 11:50-12:20 and Potluck style lunch 12:25-12:55

When: Friday February 16th

Where: GRS Gym

UA Culture Day will be an opportunity for UA students and staff to continue building community with one another over food representative of the cultures here at Great River. We will also have a panel of BIPOC staff members that will engage students in a Q&A prior to lunch. This is an ALL UA community event that is student led and all UA students are encouraged to participate.

What do we need help with?

• Volunteers to bring in food dishes that may be representative of your specific culture or upbringing.

• Setup and cleanup volunteers

PEG had the pleasure to host Lindsey Weaver, Great River's IB and CAS coordinator, and Gina Sedlacek, Adolescent Program Assistant!

Lindsey expressed the desire to have more varied and exciting internship opportunities available for 11th and 12th grade students. Is your workplace or makerspace in need of an intern on Wednesdays from 1:00-3:45pm? Email Lindsey at lweaver@greatriverschool.org, or scan the QR code below and follow the google form prompts.

Gina Sedlacek is seeking individuals who have a unique talent, special interest, or passion for Lower Adolescent CAS projects. These individuals would come to campus or host students in their space once a week for 2-4 weeks to share their specialities! This round, PEG will be collecting donations for staff meals during conferences. Ordering through the kitchen will keep costs low and centralize ingredients/food and resources. Scan the QR code for PayPal or Venmo to donate!

The Parent Engagement Group works to create GRS community events throughout the year. "PEG" meets once per month, usually on the first Monday of each month (see GRS calendar) in person AND on Zoom.

No volunteer obligations are necessary; come when you can, volunteer or organize events that speak to your creativity, or just offer your expertise, knowledge, and support!
