Mrs. Waggoner's News
September 24-28
Dear Parents,
We have been working machines this week. Students are learning the independent routines for reading workshop. This is very important as we work on our small group routines this coming week.
Yesterday I was out for Newsela training. Our substitute was wonderful and most of the kids were really well behaved, but the kiddos left the room a total disaster! This happened last week when I was pulled out for study group as well. Chromebooks on the floor, supplies on the ground, and "stuff" rearranged. I would appreciate if you could reinforce this "cleaning up after yourself" concept at home and I will keep working on it here. There is so much learning that happens in the elementary classroom! :)
Today Logan and Taylor led our Mystery Hangout with Discovery Elementary in St. Charles, Missouri. The think tank was generating questions and all students were engaged with their red and green cards helping answer the questions for the other class. These map skills are definitely coming along quickly! We even learned the there is a divide in the borders of the states that look like a baker! Totally news to me!!
Congrats to Savannah for getting the quote of the week, "make everyday great!" Also congrats to all of our ambassadors!! We had a bunch! Lastly, congrats to Ella for finishing all of her work and not turning in ONE thing left unfinished!
Conferences are fast approaching and the kids began working on their conference format. With that being said, I need you to fill out a conference slot AGAIN. When I had a sub last week, my conference sign ups on my desk completely disappeared. If you would so kindly fill out the Google form to request a new sign up, I would greatly appreciate it. IF YOU REMEMBER YOUR CONFERENCE TIME AND / OR HAVE ANOTHER STUDENT WITH A CONFERENCE ON A PARTICULAR NIGHT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN THE NOTES OF THE GOOGLE DOC.

Happy Fall!
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Waggoner
