PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Pleasant Run Families:
ILEARN testing will continue for our 3rd and 4th grade students on Monday. Our students worked extremely hard this past week on the math portion. Please remember, these test scores do not define your child! Be sure to reiterate this message at home. Nine days of testing is a long time, and I want the students to stay motivated and to do their very best!
This is my best attempt to explain the new test and the schedule for testing:
- 4th graders take 3 subject based tests – ELA, Math and Science.
- Each subject has 2 types of tests – Computer Adaptive Test (C.A.T.) and Performance Task (P.T.)
- C.A.T. – This is a test that adapts to the students answers – think NWEA.
- P.T. – This is a task that must be completed in one day. It requires students to synthesize information and apply that knowledge.
It is important that our students arrive to school on time and are ready to do their very best.
Did you know that we now have a new app and website! The purpose of the app and website is to provide regular updates through the live feed, district news, and district events sections as well as other important district information. The app includes easy access to the weekly breakfast and lunch menu, staff contacts, district documents, bullying and safety reporting form, and much much more. The Warren app can be downloaded at the Apple and Android App Store. Stay informed and download the app today. The district website is www.warren.k12.in.us.
Finally, MSD Warren Township is holding a community forum to share the changes being implemented at the intermediate/middle schools for the 19/20 school year.
In addition, the district will be seeking input and feedback on moving from a two-tier transportation schedule to a three tier transportation schedule for the 19/20 school year.
