PSAT - NMSQT Time!
What is the PSAT?
The Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT/NMSQT® (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), is a practice version of the SAT exam. Students can only take the PSAT once per year, and many students take the test in both 10th and 11th grade. If a student earns a high score on the PSAT their junior year, they could qualify to receive a National Merit Scholarship—$180 million dollars in merit scholarships are awarded to students each year. The PSAT is 2 hours and 45 minutes long and tests your skills in reading, writing, and math.
When is the PSAT offered?
AHS is scheduled to give this test on October 14, 2020. The fee to take this test is $17.00.
If your student would like to take the PSAT/NMSQT they will need to sign up with Mrs. Traci in the counselor’s office and bring the payment with them when they sign up. Sign up deadline is October 1.
