Online Registration Open

#PointerNation Online Registration is open for the 2023-24 School Year!

-- Please note:

1. Student demographic information must be filled out online in Skyward Family Access.

2. There will be no in-person registration day to pay for students’ school fees. All fees can be paid through Fee Management which can be accessed via Skyward > Family Access under Quick Links and Lunch/School Fees.

3. Any Parent/Guardian with a student who is NEW to the district and has not yet enrolled, should stop by Elementary at 611 Cothern to complete registration forms during the following times (or contact Shelby at 608-987-0710, x127):

Wednesday, August 2 9:00AM – 4:00PM at Elementary School

Monday, August 7 1:00PM – 6:00PM at Elementary School

4. All students will complete a form within On-Line registration. If you have any questions regarding busing, contact the First Student, Inc. with questions at 608-987-3911.

Food Drive Donations

The 4th grade summer school class put on a food drive over the last three weeks and ended up collecting over 250 pounds of food! The class took a trip to SWCAP in Dodgeville to donate the collected food and help assemble food bags for Iowa County residents. Great job everyone and thanks to all who donated!

Badger Football Visits

A big thanks to Upland Hills Health for bringing Badger Football players Kerry Kodanko and Riley Mahlman to speak to our #PointerNation Football team at a recent practice! We're sure our student-athletes learned a lot from these two Academic All-Big Ten players!

Inclusive Playground

2nd graders had a fantastic field trip to the new inclusive playground in Platteville during summer school adventure camp!

With school supply lists being distributed, and back to school supplies available in stores, please remember that if your family needs help with supplies, we have many community partners that have generously provided donations to the district. Finale Software

A big congrats to Ashley Calderon-McHugh who is one of this year's grant recipients from the Mineral Point Community and Excellence in Education Endowment Funds! Her "Finale Software" project received $990 from the Roger & Mary Ivey EIE Endowment Fund, and the Burnell and Vivian Wang EIE Fund, to purchase software for the computers in the lab for students to learn and practice music literacy, composition, and analysis. Grants from the Mineral Point EIE support educational programming outside of the boundaries of the school district budget. To learn more about the EIE, visit https://cfsw.org/eie/mineral-point/

Exploring Our World Locally

A big congrats to Kimberly Diefenbach who is one of this year's grant recipients from the Mineral Point Community and Excellence in Education Endowment Funds! Her "Exploring Our World Locally" project received $1,000 from the Don Hawkins Community Oak Savanna Endowment Fund, and the Mineral Point EIE Fund, to purchase supplies for students to use authentic field tools to explore and document the wildlife and wild places in their local area. Substitute Teacher Training

We'd love to have you join our sub pool! You can get licensed in time for the new school year. There will be a Substitute Teacher Training held in Conference Room A at CESA 3 in Fennimore at 9 am on August 3. Lunch is included. This training is one of the requirements for a sub license in Wisconsin (including the minimum of an associate's degree). Instruction will end at 2 pm. Registrants with questions or needing assistance with the license application can stay after the workshop to receive help.
