Early Childhood
Early Childhood Principal Huddles - The IQPPS 2021-2022 preschool desk audit is open. The second of three huddles to support principals in meeting all 10 IQPPS standards will be from 1-2 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 21) at this Zoom Link. (The last Zoom support session is planned for Nov. 16.)
The role of the principal/superintendent is to gather information, conduct observations, and upload responses in CASA. (Deadline to upload into CASA is Dec. 15.) Teachers may assist or provide feedback, but the DE is looking for implementation tools and processes that ensure the standard is met by administrators. PLAEA Early Childhood Consultants created an IQPPS Desk Audit Toolbox for 2021-2022. Recordings, standards, resources and tools can be found in the IQPPS Desk Audit Folder.

Fall Teaching Strategies GOLD checkpoint (for preschool) is quickly approaching. Preschool teachers need to have their data finalized by Nov. 22. Here is the link to the TS GOLD and myIGDIS checkpoint windows for the 2021-2022 school year.
Call for Presenters - Inclusive Classroom Virtual Conference
Great Prairie AEA, Green Hills AEA, Mississippi Bend AEA, and Prairie Lakes AEA would like to invite you to present at our first ever collaborative virtual Inclusive Classroom Conference. We would greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to donate some of your time to present. The Inclusive Classroom Conference will be held virtually on Feb. 9 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. CST.
The virtual sessions will be recorded for participants to watch later if they are unable to during the session time.
Deadline for submission is 4 p.m. Nov. 8 CST. Presenters will be notified via email by Nov. 15 if their session has been accepted or not.
Our keynotes will be Mike Marotta, Karen Janowski, Chris Bugaj, and Beth Poss the authors of Inclusive Learning 365.

Child & Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings
PLAEA is offering Youth Mental Health First Aid and Child Mental Health First Aid agency-wide in person. The training helps educators to sharpen their noticing skills to the signs and symptoms of mental illness. Child MHFA is designed for educators who work with children ages 5-12 and YMHFA is designed for educators who work with adolescents ages 12-18. It is a one day training, 8:30-3:30 with 30 minutes for lunch. Participants must attend the entire day to be certified as a Mental Health First Aider.
