A message from Mrs. Savage - Assistant Principal
Hello Pontiac Families,
Pontiac's 2020-2021 School Improvement Council goal is to support LITERACY. This reading initiative does that by increasing exposure to literature and building excitement about books while spotlighting guest readers. As we say at Pontiac, this initiative is a WIN-WIN!
In the past, we have welcomed guest readers into our classrooms. However, due to current safety concerns, we are no longer able to do that. This reading initiative has provided us a wonderful opportunity to welcome guest readers from all over the country!
Our goal is to feature one reader from each state daily on our news show. So far, we have had readers from Oregon, Wyoming, Arkansas, Florida, and Maryland. So, we are still looking for readers from 45 states!
If you have a family member or friend in another state who would be willing to record themselves reading to our students, please submit their name on this Google Form.
They will then use this link on Flipgrid to record their reading. In their video, please have them say the name of the Pontiac student who submitted their name and the state they are representing.
Watch this video for more detailed instructions.
Thank you again for your support of LITERACY and our Pontiac Parrots!
