Please come and see your child perform in our Annual Black History Showcase

We will be dong three mini showcases, back-to-back, by grade bands to make it easier for parents to attend.

K-2 is 9:00-9:25 3-5 is 9:30-9:55 6-8 + Band/Choir is 10:00-10:30

* There is one exception: Students in grades 3-5 who are in CHOIR will perform in the last two showcases

* Because we are inviting all families/community members, NO students or classes outside of their grade band can come down to watch performances (i.e. an 8th grader whose sibling is in 1st grade cannot come down to watch the K-2 showcase).

Re-enrollment packets should have been received at your home, if you did not get the form please call the school office.

Please Make sure you have returned your packet by February 29th.

All students who return their packet with all required documents will be invited to participate on March 9th from 9-11:30 in our First Annual Commitment to Graduation Ceremony. Our Commitment to Graduation ceremony is a charge to the students to remain in the Westminster Pride and to graduate eighth grade ready for High School success. Here, students and families committing to Westminster Community Charter School will be celebrated.

Completing your re-enrollment form is required to remain in the school for the following year. This is how to guarantee your child's seat for the 2024-2025 school year. It is also the time to apply for any new students for next year, including Kindergarteners. We have been talking about the importance of attendance since the summer. Please remember NYS Education Department has defined any student who misses 10% or more school days, as Chronically Absent. Both excused and non-excused absences count towards student being considered Chronically Absent. Non-excused absents, which includes all absences we do not receive a written excuse for as well as those, such as vacation or transportation that NYS does not consider excused. Missing just two days a month of school―for any reason― can be a problem for kids in a number of ways. Children who are chronically absent in kindergarten and first grade are less likely to read on grade level by the third grade. For older students, being chronically absent is strongly associated with failing at school―even more than low grades or test scores. When absences add up, these students are more likely to be suspended and drop out of high school. Chronic absenteeism is also linked with teen substance use, as well as poor health as adults.

Please help support your scholars educational success by having them at school, all day, everyday.
