Welcome back!
Welcome back to a great year of learning at Break-O-Day Elementary! Our first weeks of school have been a great success! We are excited to welcome many new students and staff to our building! In this week’s edition of the newsletter, we’d like to take a chance to introduce a number of staff that your child and your family will have frequent contact with while at Break-O-Day!
Meet our Principal, Mrs. Shipp
Greetings to all Break-O-Day families! My name is Laura Shipp, and I am honored to be the Principal at BES! This year kicks off my 22nd year in Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation! This is my sixth year as principal here at BES. Prior to becoming principal, I worked at Clark Elementary as a third grade teacher for 9 years, an instructional coach for 4 years, and as assistant principal for 3 years. Not only have I worked in Clark-Pleasant Schools my entire career, but I attended Clark-Pleasant Schools for my entire K-12 school career! I am a lifelong Whiteland Warrior! My husband and I have two daughters that also attend school here at CPCSC at the high school.
It is such an honor to be a part of the Break-O-Day family and to have the opportunity to support our amazing staff, students and families! I look forward to meeting all of our new families in the upcoming weeks and months of school. We hope that you feel welcomed by our entire school community! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or any needs you may have in making this a great school year for your child and your family! Thank you for sharing your children with our staff and making us partners in your child’s education!
Meet our Assistant Principal, Mr. Holzbog
Break-O-Day Families,
My name is Andy Holzbog. I am excited to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal here at BES. I am eager to meet you and your students and look forward to a great school year!
I have been in education for 11 years, 5 as an Assistant Principal, and 6 as a teacher at the elementary and high school levels. My family and I moved to the Greenwood area from Florida a couple of years ago, as Indiana is where my wife and I both grew up. While I am new to Clark Pleasant, I arrive with many valuable experiences in education and am eager to initiate myself in the Warrior Way. It is my mission to be a servant leader to the staff, students, and families associated with BES and the greater Clark Pleasant School Corporation. I will always work in cooperation with all stakeholders to provide our students with the best learning experience possible. Thank you for your support, and let’s make it a great year!
Meet our School Counselor, Mrs. DeLion
Hello Families! My name is Kasey DeLion and I am the School Counselor at Break-O-Day. This will be my third year at BES and I am so excited to assist you all again this year! Before becoming a school counselor at BES, I worked in a few different elementary schools throughout the state in different capacities. I grew up in the Center Grove area, so the southside is where my heart lies. My husband and I have a very active one and a half year old who keeps us on our toes, and we are loving every minute of it.
I am so happy I will have the opportunity to work with all our BES students and families again this year. I am here to help with coping skills, giving the students someone to talk to if something is going on, holiday assistance, and more. I am always a call or email away if you are in need of any assistance, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you are concerned about or are in need of anything. I appreciate you all trusting myself and the rest of the Break-O-Day staff with your children. Here’s to a wonderful year!
