Under the direction of Mrs. Oppermann and Mrs. Niemczyk, a number of 7th and 8th graders put together a website of student produced news items. This is one of many options to allow for student voice and choice in our school. We hope you enjoy the first edition which can be found here.

Three of our 6th graders, under the guidance of Mrs. Kasprowicz, have created a magazine that is both online and in print. They are the editors and collaborators of the magazine and write some of the articles as well. The magazine has been printed and is at some of our neighborhood businesses for our community to enjoy. Here's a link if you're interested in seeing what they put together.

It's less than two weeks to Seussical Jr. The cast, crew, and directors have been hard at work since September to put together a great show. See the flyer below for showtimes. Ticket prices are $10 for reserved seating (first 3 rows, only available online), $8 for general seating, and $6 for students and seniors. Below are the ways to purchase tickets.

Online: We are now offering an advanced ticket sales option through Vanco Events. You can buy any ticket option online, but please note that this is the only way to purchase the Reserved Seating. Online ticket sales for the Thursday performance will end at noon on Thursday, 11/21 and sales for the Friday and Saturday shows will end at noon on Friday, 11/22. Your entire transaction is subject to a $2.50 service charge. Tickets will be scanned at the door so please print your tickets or have them available on a device to scan. In the Office: Advanced general seating tickets are also sold in both the Primary and Intermediate School offices. You must pay with exact cash or check made out to Merton School. You have the option to take the tickets with you at the time of purchase or have them waiting for you at the door in will call. All office ticket sales will end at 4:00pm on Tuesday, 11/19.

At the Door: Tickets are always available at the door beginning an hour prior to each performance.

On Saturday, November 9th, there is a STEM Expo at MSOE from 10:30-2:30. The event is free and open to the public. Here is a link to the website with more information.

Below is a letter from Chartwells, the food service provided for Merton Schools. On Monday, November 20th, students will be able to sample and vote for their favorite menu concept to be featured in the cafeteria in December. Please see the letter below for more information.

It's not too soon to start thinking about your 8th grade child's transition to Arrowhead. Mrs. Meissner sent home a letter via email this week that explains a parent night as well as information about the PreACT test that is required for some advanced coursework at Arrowhead. The letter Mrs. Meissner sent home can be found below. The meeting at Arrowhead is November 20th at 6:30PM. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Meissner.
