RC3 News

Congratulations to the men and women that completed the skilled trades adult training program! Trainees had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences in the areas of building construction, electrical, and HVAC. Using the NCCER curriculum, craftsmen trained program participants and prepared them for certification. The program equipped participants with the knowledge needed to take and pass the construction site safety certification. Several participants have elected to continue training and earn their NCCER Core certification.

At RC3, students are called ‘Team Members’, and this document describes team member expectations. Participation and progress in an RC3 career academy requires team member acceptance of and continued compliance with the expectations set forth in the code of conduct and this manual. This manual is intended to be a teaching document, and team members are expected to ask questions of faculty and staff members if there is any doubt regarding expected behavior in a particular situation.

You MUST park in your assigned space every day. If you do not have an assigned parking space at RC3, you are NOT allowed to park on the campus.

Driving to RC3 is a privilege, not a right. Consequences for failing to follow all rules associated with driving to and from RC3 are as follows:

• 1st Offense of parking illegally and/or driving too fast (on campus and through the neighborhood) will result in a conference with the team member and director and 2 employability points.

• 2nd Offense of parking illegally or driving too fast (on campus and through the neighborhood) will result in a conference with the team member, parent, and director and 3 employability points. The team member will be placed on probation for the remainder of the term.

• 3rd Offense of parking illegally and/or driving too fast (on campus and through the neighborhood) will result in dismissal from RC3.

RC3 Attendance Policy - Review the attendance policy by clicking HERE

If the student will not attend for any reason on a scheduled attendance day, the student is required to email RC3 to inform us of the absence. Please email at: rc3main@hoover.k12.al.us at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled arrival time.

Please be aware that RC3 attendance policy and procedures may differ from your base school.

In an effort to keep everyone safe and well, please do not send children to school if they are exhibiting any signs or symptoms of being sick. If you have questions or concerns regarding their absences please contact Nurse Emily Sutton at 205-439-1900.
