Announcements & Updates

- Today in Advisory, students explored what it looks like to persevere through challenging times. They identified a personal challenge (i.e., continuing to learn and play at home) and how turning negative self-talk ("This will never end - I'm tired of being home, I miss my friends") into positive self-talk ("This will end eventually - I just need to hang in there. In the meantime, I've enjoyed binge-watching funny movies with my family") leads to a happier mood. Positive self-talk inspires resiliency, optimism and even gratitude for the things going well in our lives. Instructions were provided on how to make a "calming jar" - a useful tool to help students calm themselves when they feel overwhelmed and they settle their thoughts by focusing on the glitter as it slowly falls to the bottom. - Attention 6th grade parents: Please refer to the email sent earlier today regarding 20-21 Related Arts course selection.


- Updates from Mrs. Austenberg:

  • Plans are being developed to coordinate the return of Epipens, inhalers, medication and supplies that are in the Health Office, as well as necessary paperwork for the beginning of the 2020-21 school year.

  • Please reach out to your child’s pediatrician to schedule physicals for sports paperwork for the fall season as we await further guidance regarding scholastic sports for next school year.

  • Please reach out to your pediatrician to schedule required immunizations for the upcoming school year. Documentation may be sent via email at this time. Please reach out to Mrs. Austenberg for any questions.

  • If your child needs working papers for a summer job, please click here: Working Papers Form & Instructions. Mountain View’s no-contact office hours for form drop off and pick up are Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and Fridays, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Please contact Mrs. Mott, mott@mendhamboroschools.org if you need assistance.
