2 October 2019, Writing Assessment Tasks in alignment with Learning Outcomes and Marking Criteria. 1pm, Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences.

This workshop will assist you with writing assessment tasks that align to subject learning outcomes. We will consider the subject in the context of the course and what level of thinking is required for students to complete assessment of the subject. Using this framework we will develop assessments using a template with a worked example and then follow up with review questions.

9 October 2019, Writing Criteria and Standards. 1pm, Faculty of Arts and Education and Faculty of Science.

This workshop, led by Deb Murdoch, will be helpful for those writing criteria and standards for their assessment tasks. We will look at learning outcomes, the student actions based on the outcomes and writing criteria in alignment. Standards that differentiate the levels of achievement for each criteria will be discussed and principles for developing a rubric will be employed to create the marking scheme for an assessment task.

10 October 2019, Introduction to PADLET. 10am, Everyone Welcome.
This workshop will introduce participants to the Padlet online platform, which staff can use to create their own bulletin boards to display multimedia content in a variety of ways. Specifically, the elements addressed in the workshop include: • Padlet content types • Staff access to Padlet at CSU • Creating and configuring your 1st Padlet • Padlet formats • Connecting your Padlet to your i2 subject sites.

8 October 2019, Designing Practice Based Education Strategies.12 pm, Everyone Welcome.

This workshop will define practice based education & professional practice; Describe examples of practice based education currently in use; Justify the use of practice based education in designing and facilitating learning; and Apply a practice based education framework to design quality learning experiences.

15 October 2019, Workplace Learning: Conducting difficult conversations with students.

12 pm, Everyone Welcome.

This workshop will enable you to identify the nature of the challenges and issues posed by students. Classify the challenges and issues and suggest a number of strategies to assist you.

15 October 2019, Start of the Session help - 201990. 1pm, Everyone Welcome.

Are you new to CSU and not sure what you need to do to get set up? Do you just need a quick refresher on start of session processes? Come along to this short, half hour session where I will show you how to clone your content over from previous sessions, set up your welcome page so it’s engaging and inviting, and answer any questions you might have about your teaching. The session will include lots of resources for you to follow up with. Presented by: Kellie Smyth.

There will be multiple sessions offered for moderation and grades so you will only need to choose one session to attend.

16 October 2019, QUASAR the new moderation system for moderation and grades. 1pm, Everyone Welcome.

CSU is introducing a new online system QUASAR for recording moderation and reflecting on your subject. This system will replace the Online Moderation System from 201960 session. The Moderation and Grades form in the new moderation system, QUASAR, is where Subject Convenors and Moderators record moderation processes. The is the first form for most of you, that will be used in QUASAR. Later sessions will be run on the second form nearer the end of session. If you have attended a workshop before, this workshop would be a refresher if you want to attend. Training will be run by Michael Kemp and Deb Murdoch.

30 October 2019, School Assessment Committee QUASAR Training. 1pm, Everyone Welcome.

23 October 2019, Subject Outline Quality Assurance. 1pm, Faculty of Arts and Education and Faculty of Science.

If you are a subject convenor or coordinator, a moderator or doing quality assurance, this workshop will support you in your work. FAE and FOS staff will be the main focus in this workshop. We will show you what you need to look out for when writing and checking subject outlines before publication for the 201990 session.
