We have many fun end of year activities planned for our students. Please continue to read the PTA and school communication for details. :-)

We hope you'll help us in celebrating our staff next week during staff appreciation week May 1st-5th. They're truly amazing and I can't thank them enough for all their hard work, dedication, and passion they put into growing your students academically, socially, and emotionally every day! Please feel free to send one of the staff members favorite things or any other token of appreciation. This includes simple handmade notes, cards, or drawings from your student. Anything to let our teachers and staff know how much we appreciate them! PTA has a fun week planned, please see detailed information below.

6th Grade Leadership Academy Needs Your Help!

Yearbooks

If you purchased a yearbook, they will be sent home on Thursday, May 18th. Teachers will share when your child would want to bring them back to school to get them autographed by their peers.

If you did not purchase a yearbook and would like one, we do have some extras that we will begin selling after all yearbooks are passed out. At that time, I'll send a separate email with a link to purchase one.

Moving or Leaving Vaughan/Ford for the 2023-2024 School Year?

If your student will NOT be attending Vaughan/Ford for the 2023-2024 year, please complete this survey. We are making plans for the next school year and appreciate the input!

If you have more than one student, complete the form, hit submit & then it will ask if you would like to submit another response. Click submit after completing the form for each of your children. Thank you!

Save the Date - Field Day - Wednesday, May 24th

Vaughan Viking Field Day will be held on Wednesday, May 24th, for students in grades K-5. Sixth graders will be carefully selected to assist with all activities.

Students in grades K-2 will participate from 8:15-9:45, and students in grades 3-5 will participate from 9:45-11:15. Roughly half of all stations will involve water.

Additionally, we will have a bounce house/slide combo, bubble/foam station, and popsicles for students to enjoy.

All students should wear water shoes/crocs/ or old shoes to the event and bring a change of clothes, towel, and plastic bag to store wet clothes.

*We now have enough volunteers to support field day. While we're allowing volunteers, we are not allowing visitors for field day.

Save the Date! STAAR 2023

We will be administering the STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) test to our 3rd - 6th grade students starting at the end of April. Students throughout the state of Texas will be taking STAAR during this time. The students will be testing online using their district issued device.

Please do not schedule appointments for your student on days he/she will be testing. Students will not be able to leave the testing environment and return to complete the test.

In addition, we will not be allowing visitors or volunteers, including lunch visitors (for any grade), on STAAR testing days.

We appreciate your help and understanding during state testing.

Kindergarten Enrollment

Who’s ready for kindergarten next year? Allen ISD’s Kindergarten Registration opened March 1st for the Fall of 2023. Learn more and register now at https://www.allenisd.org/Kindergarten

Prekindergarten Update & Enrollment for 2023-2024

In the 2023-2024 school year, Allen ISD will serve eligible students in a full-day Prekindergarten program. The program will consist of both monolingual and bilingual classes and will be located at George J. Anderson Early Childhood School. Enrollment opens on Monday, April 3rd. Elementary and middle school campuses will also receive a printed poster in both English and Spanish, next week. Please hang these in a common entrance area of your school.

All our Watchdog slots for the year are full. Thank you to all our dads, granddads, uncles and other male role models for taking the time to volunteer at Vaughan! We appreciate you and look forward to seeing you more next year.

Kids Club

Summer Kids Club registration is open to currently enrolled families. Summer registration will open to ALL Allen ISD families on May 8th. Fall registration will open on May 15th.
