📢Shout Out! Community Access Fair📢
The SAISD Family and Community Engagement team for the Office of Disability Services gave families an opportunity to connect with community partners to receive the right resources to make life easier. Texas Workforce Vocational Rehabilitation , Youth Empowerment Services of Texas Workforce Solutions and Good Samaritan lead critical conversations and provided access for our community. Door prizes were awarded to our 17 attendees. Brackenridge student, Diamond Sandoval, won the grand prize, a NFL Dallas Cowboy’s jersey. Families expressed their appreciation for this opportunity. Together, we made the difference!

Social Narratives
📅These simple short stories targeting social skills are a great tool in teaching direct social skills. With the holidays coming up and changes in student’s schedules personalized Social Narratives about these holidays (such as What is Thanksgiving? Why am I not going to school? What is Christmas? Etc.) will help our students in navigating these exciting events. For more about Social Narratives and samples go to:

Or reach out to your Program Specialist! Best practice is to make extra copies to send home.
