Each week our RAM Squad has created a video lesson on an essential skill for our elementary students to practice. Today our RAM Squad appreciated a community volunteer behind the scenes. Mr. Dan Smith, husband of Mrs. Shae Smith, our counselor, produced each lesson in a creative video. Our students hosted a pizza lunch to appreciate Mr. Smith for spending over 30+ hours of his own time to help our school. Each student presented Mr. Smith with a thank you card and expressed what they appreciated most about his video work. He then provided them with a mini-lesson on how videos like these are created.

The RAM Squad is led by Ms.Hamilton, along with the support of Mrs. Porteus and Mrs. Smith.

Colorado State Patrol Youth Academy - Now Accepting Applications!

The focus of the Colorado State Patrol Youth Academy will be on leadership development through team exercises and individual achievement. The Academy will be mentally and physically demanding and will challenge all participants. The Academy is free of charge and is limited to a select number of participants throughout the state.

Now accepting applications until April 9, 2023. Space is limited, so submit your application as soon as possible.

The 2023 Youth Academy takes place July 26 - July 29, 2023

Mrs. Peggy Hall and her FCCLA students ventured to the front range on Tuesday, March 21. They toured Scheels, enjoyed lunch at Old Chicago, and then attended a Colorado Eagles game.

The students enjoyed the learning experience.

Mrs. Hall's freshmen Teen Choices class took a two week first aid/CPR class. The Washington County Ambulance EMT's conducted the instriction.

Akron FFA students delivered canned goods they collected from the school wide food drive held during FFA week. Washington County Connections was thrilled with the donation and the students' willingness to donate to the community!

Mrs. Weis's 3rd grade class collected the most food and earned a Dairy Queen cake for their effort.

Great job third graders!

Akron High School boys baseball hosted Haxtun on Monday, March 20. The boys lost both games but gained some valuable playing time.
