AVA Family Update
January 13, 2023
Good afternoon AVA Families,
Good morning.
Today is a half-day for students, and our staff will be in Professional Development sessions this afternoon. The schedule for next week with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday is below.
Other than our updated guidance and community notices, I only have one significant news item: Parent Conferences are next Wednesday from 6-8 PM. By the end of the day today, you should have received an email from teachers asking if you wish to sign up for a virtual meeting. We hope our families take advantage of the opportunity to talk with our staff. If you do not receive an invitation by the end of today, please alert me.
Ms. Ng and I will also be available, and I will send an "office hours" link on Wednesday afternoon so it's at the top of your email inbox if you want to talk to either of us.
Thank you for your time.

Guidance Update
Grades 9-11 - Naviance
As mentioned in Advisory this week, all students should have completed their Career survey by now and also completing their first/only Naviance journal entry in the next few weeks. Please remember that not completing these Naviance assignments on time will affect whether a student passes AVA Advisory or not. Ms Nellie plans to meet with students individually during Advisory starting around the end of T2 about their survey results and reflections, so students, please do not delay and reach out to Ms Nellie asap if you need support.
