AESD Family Letter
October 27, 2022
Dear AESD Families,
The following update is provided to keep you informed regarding the Anaheim Elementary School District:
Update on Weekly COVID-19 Data for Anaheim
Our District continues to prioritize the health and safety of stakeholders as our top priority. As we have communicated, California no longer reports data within the tiered colored system. The City of Anaheim has also discontinued the collection and sharing of COVID-19 data. This is a link to the Orange County Health Care Agency to provide you with access to Orange County data.
COVID-19 Safety
It is important that we all remain vigilant in our safety protocols. CDPH has shifted its masking guidance from a strong recommendation in all indoor settings to advising the general population to use the CDC Community Levels to inform masking recommendations. Other safety protocols include frequently washing our hands and seeking testing when displaying any symptoms of COVID.
Please continue to self-screen your child before coming to school. If your child has any COVD-19 symptoms, keep them at home and report their absence to your school.
November 1, 2022 - All Staff Professional Development Day - NO SCHOOL
Anaheim Elementary School District staff will be participating in a district-wide professional development day on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. This day of learning for AESD staff will support the students and programs at all of our school sites. A kind reminder that November 1st is a non-student day.
School, Family and Community Engagement: November Programming
Linked is the November programming for parent education in English and Spanish. Please note the collaboration partnership with the Fresno State Parent University denotes NEW classes! These opportunities will continue to change throughout the year. The course descriptions support your decision making for enrollment. If you attend 6 of 8 classes you will receive a certificate of completion. If you have any questions about the classes, please call the School, Family and Community Engagement office at (714) 517-7150 or email aesdvolunteer@aesd.org.

We are happy to announce that at yesterday’s meeting, the AESD Board of Education approved the 2022-26 District Goals. This document represents our effort to clearly communicate District Goals that are based on the ongoing work of our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Committee.
Our three District LCAP goals are the drivers for the Strategies for Success and Measurements of Achievement identified in these aspirational District Goals and actions which will focus our district efforts to create the highest quality learning and support possible for our deserving students. This document includes feedback that has been received from stakeholder groups including our LCAP Committee, District Advisory Committee/District English Learner Advisory Committee, District PTA, Parent Leadership Institute, AESD parents and staff members. The District Goals represent our collective high expectations of Conditions for Learning, Pupil Outcomes, Student Engagement and Wellness Support, Family and Community Engagement and our ongoing Communication with Stakeholders.
The 2022-26 District Goals are linked here and can be found on our District website at www.aesd.org
On behalf of the AESD Board of Education and our staff members, thank you for your continuing support of the Anaheim Elementary School District.
Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher Downing
Superintendent
