November School Happenings
Learning and Being Successful in Miss Reddies Physical Education Class
Notes from the Principal
This month’s focus is Empathy. One way to think about Empathy is “understanding and connecting with other people’s feelings.” Empathy is a practice that can help us grow strong relationships. Empathy is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Kind. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and leadership.
Rockfield is filled with students who show empathy for others. We continue to provide opportunities to learn and grow in this area. Empathy can happen on a small level and also be shown in bigger ways. Some of the incredible ways our students demonstrate empathy are as follows:
- The Kapco Toy Drive going on until Dec. 7th
- Kindness Warriors who are looking to create a Money War to support a school impacted by the Hurricane this year. More to come on this drive soon.
- We also have groups of students looking to help students problem solve difficult situations
- Additionally we have students making themselves available to help students who struggle with reading and math
- The Green Team who promotes recycling in the cafeteria.
We have such an incredible school community at Rockfield. Our students are young leaders who are supported to be their best both at home and school.
Thank you for all of your support! Have a wonderful holiday season.

Warmest holiday wishes to all of our Rockfield families! The PTA has been busy these last few weeks! We had a stop on the Candy Lane trail at Fireman's park after the Germantown holiday parade. Notes from the School Nurse
As we all know, some of our students and staff will come down with some colds and illnesses so we do ask that you keep your child home if they are not feeling well with a temp of >100, diarrhea, or vomiting for 24 hours or until symptoms subside without the use of medication for 24 hours. This will help to slow the spread of these communicable diseases. If there is a student or staff member in your child's classroom that is diagnosed with one or more of illness's such as RSV, Influenza, covid, etc. we will send out an email to the family member that is listed on your child's skyward account. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. Happy holidays from Rockfield's health room!
Sincerely,
Heather Traindl
Ticket Prize Announcement
Tickets will be drawn each Friday. All students who have received a ticket for showing great character throughout the week are entered.
When a student's name is called they can pick up their prize in the office immediately. At the end of each month, all of the tickets collected for the month get put together and a bigger drawing is done. October's monthly raffle winners will have lunch with a Sheriff's Deputy and November's monthly raffle was a game of 4 square with Ms. Redies, our PE teacher, and Dr. Croatt, our principal.
