Hello, Wildcat Families and Students!

• Thank you, families, for attending our 1st Coffee with the Principal and Technology Night. We will be hosting a Dessert with the Principal in November!
• TUTORNING STARTS THIS WEEK ON MONDAY, TUESDAY AND THURSDAY. Monday is all subjects and Tuesday and Thursday are math only.
• We need a few volunteers to be on our School Site Council this year. Please nominate yourself for someone else you feel would be a great representative of Sullivan! Thank you ahead of time!
  
• We have our 2nd PTO Meeting and Lunch on the Lawn coming up!

PARENTS: Please check your student's planner for homework due or what your student did in class. Your student has also listed his or her reading and math STAR scores in the back of the planner. Please ask them about this!

THE END OF THE GRADING QUARTER IS QUICKLY APPROACHING: OCTOBER 19. Please check Aeries for current grades, classwork, and homework.

Sullivan Middle School

Tutoring will start this week from 2:50 to 3:50, right after school. Students will need to report directly to the appropriate room for tutoring. Students must be on time for tutoring. If they are late they may not be allowed to participate.

Monday tutoring will be all subjects with Mrs. Janikowski

Tuesday and Thursday will be math only with Mrs. Toscano.

Good Morning, Wildcat Families!

We are looking for two more parents to serve on our School Site council this school year. This is a great opportunity to help decide and give input on how we are allocating our school funds and help give input for our School Site Plan for next school year.

We seek nominations for parents who wish to serve on the Sullivan Middle School School Site Council.

Nominations will be held from Sept. 9/27-10/4. Each year, we elect teachers, parents, and, classified members to our school council. The SMS School Site Council (SSC) is an elected body with the vital role of overseeing the School Plan, ensuring it supports the goals of the school and district, and periodically assessing the program's effectiveness.

There are two (2) parent openings on the School Site Council. The SSC meets on Mondays after school for 1 hour from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Elections will be held via Google Doc or in person at the SMS Office from October 5-10. Results will be announced on October 11, 2023.

The first SMS SSC meeting will be held on October 16th from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. If you want to be on our School Site Council but can not attend in person, we can Zoom you in!

February 16, 2024

May 6, 2024: Finalize the School Site Plan for the 24-25 School year.

Your student should have received the Wildcat Planner with the student handbook in the front. Please help your student by checking for homework and classwork completed every day. This is what Sullivan is using to help our Wildcats stay organized and another way for teachers and school to communicate with our families.

The California Department of Education passed legislation this past July that all school districts must remind parents and legal guardians of all students in the Bonsall Unified School District of their responsibilities for keeping firearms out of the hands of children as required by California law. ATTENTION PARENTS!

We are excited to announce that we extended our safety and security for all staff and students by installing a fence around the front of our school! Visitors will be required to bring ID and check in at the Welcome Booth before anyone is permitted on campus.

Only emergency vehicles, buses, those with handicap placards, and those with other special placards have access to the upper lot, emergency lane closest to the front of our schools. You will need to show your placard to Campus Security.

This decision to enforce our existing parking lot plan aligns with the recommendations of our community safety partners and will increase our ability to maintain a safe and secure site:

• When dropping students off, please use the lower levels of the parking lot.
• When visiting either the middle or the high school office, please park in the lower levels, bring your ID to the Welcome booth, and check in with the appropriate staff.
